The ‘rainbow’ total lunar eclipse was a sight in the sky Sunday night for millions of Americans.
Much of the world was treated to a spectacular astronomical event Sunday night – a total lunar eclipse.
People shared their photos and videos of the so-called "blood moon." The phenomenon is the result of Earth casting its shadow on the moon, giving the celestial body a rusty hue.
If you missed the first total lunar eclipse of the year, a second one will happen on Nov. 8 and will be visible across most of North America.
