HOW TO WATCH FOX WEATHER ON TV
"This is the first time we have ever seen anything like this for sure," Deshotel told FOX 10 in Mobile. "I look out the window … and there it is. We don’t know how big it was, but it was massive."
Peek, who is a certified diver and has swum with sharks her entire life, said it's not uncommon to see sharks up close, but locals said it is very rare to see a shark that size so close to shore.

THE GOOD NEWS BEHIND THE RECENT SHARK SIGHTINGS
Being attacked by a hammerhead is rare, and they usually avoid humans. There are only 16 recorded attacks on humans from hammerheads since the 1900s, according to the International Shark Attack File. And of those, there have been no deaths.
It's advised never to enter the water if sharks are known to be present and evacuate the water if sharks are seen while there. And, of course, do not harass a shark if you see one.
