LAS VEGAS - Two people have been found dead in a flood channel in Las Vegas after monsoon-triggered thunderstorms led to another round of flash flooding last week, according to officials.
The first unidentified flooding victim was found by emergency crews in a flood channel in the area of Giles and Mandalay Bay Road around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. According to Clark County deputy fire chief Billy Samuels, they were taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.

A second victim, who has only been identified as a male, was also found in a flood channel.
Samuels said public works crews were brought in to help remove the debris from the channel, and the victim was discovered while firefighters were going through the piles by hand.

Heavy rain flooded Sin City streets on Thursday night, with many people posting photos and videos to social media showing water rushing through parking garages and across Las Vegas Boulevard, also known as "The Strip."
The heavy rain also caused more issues inside popular casinos, with water seen pouring from ceilings.
That was the second flooding incident in Las Vegas in as many weeks.
At the end of July, another round of monsoon storms dumped heavy amounts of rain in the Las Vegas area, which also led to major flooding in the city.
