So, what are some things to consider when planning an outdoor wedding?

"The most important thing is that you make sure you factor in the weather," Herman said. "So, if it's going to be really hot, you have to figure out that you got some possibilities of some showers. So what can you do? Where can you move it inside? And bugs. Think in terms of bugs just in case you're someplace with mosquitoes or something like that. Either pretreat or make sure there is bug spray around."

And if you are tying the knot outside and it's hot, Herman says you need to make sure vendors are familiar with the conditions.

"Make sure the vendors know what they need to do to keep the food safe outdoors, including making sure the cake is kept inside where it's cool until it's needed," he said.

So, what about the worst cities for outdoor weddings? Those include:

Many people who choose outdoor weddings are making sure there's an option to take it indoors if the weather turns sour.

"My boss just got married in Austin in February, and he made sure it was both an outdoor and indoor wedding," Herman said. "But something to remember is the weather. Because February in Austin is still kind of chilly. So people were very happy to have a chance to go inside after the initial vows were said outdoors."
