Will the strengthening nor'easter cancel your weekend plans? Here's what to know
FOX Weather is here to keep you informed on not only the storm's forecast, but the status of some popular weekend festivities that could be affected by this monster nor'easter.
New Jersey beaches taking a beating as nor'easter moves up the East Coast
A nor'easter is moving up the East Coast, and impacts are starting to be felt in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. FOX Weather Correspondent Katie Byrne reports from Ocean City, New Jersey, where beach erosion and rough surf are already happening. She talks to residents about the conditions:
Some events along the East Coast are already being canceled as a strengthening nor'easter begins to make its charge up the coastline. The storm is forecast to stall off the coast of New York's Long Island on Saturday, bringing days of powerful wind gusts, driving rain and coastal flooding to over 40 million from North Carolina to New England.

Outdoor concerts
CANCELED
Both of Ed Sheeran’s highly anticipated LOOP Tour performances at Gillette Stadium this Friday and Saturday have been officially canceled due to the nor'easter.
Stadium officials, the tour promoter, and public safety authorities reached the decision after tracking the nor'easter's intensifying forecast, prioritizing the safety of fans, staff, and performers as high winds and rain loom over Foxborough.
Ed Sheeran concert cancellations in New England on Sep. 25 and 26 due to weather.

The Global Citizen Festival on the Great Lawn in New York City's Central Park scheduled for Saturday evening has been canceled. The event features Alicia Keys & Friends, Ms. Lauren Hill and Wyclef Jean and Lenny Kravitz.

All Things Go in New York City at Forest Hills Stadium has been canceled, while it's counterpart, All Things Go in the Washington, D.C. DMV, at Merriweather Post Pavilion is still scheduled to take place. The events feature headliners like Zara Larsson, Mitski, Muna and more.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NOR’EASTER AND A HURRICANE?

Rock band Turnstile is still set to go on at Thompson's Point in Portland, Maine, as well this Saturday. Ray LaMontagne is set to play at Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston on Saturday, no matter the conditions.
AC/DC's Power Up Tour scheduled for this Friday at MetLife Stadium has been canceled as severe winds threaten the New York and New Jersey area ahead of the powerful coastal storm.
All Time Low at Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, New Jersey, was also canceled due to the weather.
Festivals and outdoor gatherings
The first weekend of fall proves to be a busy one with numerous outdoor events at risk of being canceled.
STILL ON
The annual Feast of San Genarro in New York City's Little Italy is continuing as planned for now, with the event scheduled on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Tunnel to Towers 5K Walk/Run, which gathers thousands each year, follows the footsteps of FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller and honors the memory of all the heroes lost on 9/11, is still planned for Sunday, Sept. 27.
Yes Chef Food Fest: New York has been rescheduled from this weekend to Wednesday. This ticketed event takes place in Citi Field's parking lot and features world-class food, immersive experiences, unforgettable live moments and the world's most passionate food community, according to the event's website.

Stone Street Oktoberfest in New York City and the 18th annual South Street Oktoberfest in Philadelphia are also continuing as planned on Saturday.
CANCELED
Meanwhile, some events have been rescheduled or canceled because of the forecasted conditions.
Greenport Maritime Festival in Greenport, New York, on Long Island is postponed until the weekend of Oct. 16 due to the brewing nor'easter.

Bristol Porchfest, a community music event in Bristol, Rhode Island, was originally set to happen on Sept. 20, but was rescheduled for this upcoming Sunday. The event hasn't said if it will be postponed again due to weather.
NFL Week 3
Three different NFL games are scheduled across the region at 1 p.m. this Sunday and could be impacted by this nor'easter.
The Tennessee Titans will take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will challenge the Cincinnati Bengals at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.

Major League Baseball
It's the last week of the MLB regular season, and with several games planned for this weekend at open-air fields, there's a high risk of rain delays and postponements.
The Yankees and Orioles postponed Saturday’s game and moved it to Friday as part of a single-admission doubleheader.
The series finale remains scheduled for Sunday at 3:20 p.m. ET at Yankee Stadium, though it could still be affected by the storm.

The Boston Red Sox have moved the start times for their weekend series against the Chicago Cubs at Fenway Park. Sunday's originally scheduled game will be moved up to this Friday at 1:05 p.m. as the first game of a split doubleheader. Friday's originally scheduled contest will be moved up to 6:15 p.m.

The Tampa Bay Rays will face the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park this weekend as well.
And the New York Mets will travel to Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. to play the Washington Nationals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
No rain delays or postponements have been announced yet, but as the games get closer there will likely be a few.
Other sports
Much like the other sports of the weekend, college football and Major League Soccer also face delays at outdoor stadiums in the region.
Army plays Temple Friday afternoon in Chestnut Hill and Howard plays Rutgers in New Jersey on Friday night.

On Saturday, numerous games could be impacted.
Virginia Tech takes on Boston College, UCLA plays Maryland, Delaware challenges Virginia, Robert Morris takes on Buffalo and Fordham challenges Stony Brook at various times Saturday afternoon and evening.
Two soccer games on Saturday at outdoor fields could be affected by this nor'easter.
