Tornado Warning continues for northern suburbs of Chicago
A Tornado Warning continues until 4:30 p.m. for parts of Cook County. The storm was located over Elk Grove Village and was moving northeast at 40 mph. People in the warned area should seek shelter immediately.
The National Weather Service says at least one funnel cloud was reported to have been spotted west of the city. So far, there have been no reports of any touchdowns.
The Federal Aviation Administration reported that ground stop has been issued at Chicago Midway airport until 4:30 p.m. Central because of severe weather in the area.
Tornado-warned storm moving through northern Chicago suburbs
Tornado Warnings were issued in several areas around the city of Chicago on Wednesday afternoon. More than a million people were under warnings for a time.
A Tornado Warning has been issued for DuPage County, just northwest of Chicago. The warning is in effect until 4:15 p.m. Central. The storm was located over Glen Ellyn and was moving northeast at 30 mph. People who live in the warned area should seek shelter.
