Winter 2024-25 is halfway over: Which parts of US have seen the most snow so far?

Believe it or not, we're already at the halfway point for meteorological winter, which runs from Dec. 31 to Feb. 28. The big winners for snow so far this season have been parts of the southern Plains, mid-South, Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic and the mountains of the Northwest. In at least parts of these regions, snow is running more than 400% above average for this point in the winter.
