Mauna Loa showing signs for possible eruption in Hawaii
Hawaii residents are being put on notice. The Mauna Loa volcano on the state's Big Island is showing signs that it may erupt. An uptick in earthquake activity at the volcano's summit is worrying scientists. Mauna Loa is the world's largest active volcano last erupting in 1984. It would only take a few hours for lava to reach homes closest to Mauna Loa's vents. Kilauea, another volcano on the Big Island, erupted more recently in 2018. This event produced gases that impacted not only other areas in Hawaii but other islands in the Pacific as well.
