Below-average temps to grip most of country by Monday

A prolonged stretch of cold weather is in store for nearly the entire contiguous U.S. in the coming week and beyond. A persistent drip in the jet stream will send multiple cold waves south out of Canada keeping highs 10 to 30 degrees below average.
