Weekend coastal storm to bring heavy rain to mid-Atlantic, heavy snow to Appalachian Mountains

The FOX Forecast Center is tracking an area of low pressure that is forecast to develop this weekend over parts of the mid-Atlantic. It's clear widespread rain will fall, potentially up to 5" across parts of the Carolinas and Georgia. The forecast confidence for snow is increasing, and it appears the highest totals will be in the Southern Appalachian Mountains.
