Severe storm threat stretches over 1,000 miles from Great Lakes to Gulf Coast on Thursday

Dangerous severe storms are expected over a large area on Thursday with parts of 15 states and nearly 50 million people in the threat area. A significant tornado risk will develop during the afternoon across Mississippi, Alabama and far southern Tennessee. Strong tornadoes (EF-2+) are possible.
