Severe storms could spawn strong tornadoes, hail, damaging winds for South later in week
Starting Wednesday, an area of low pressure will emerge over the Plains and Great Lakes by the evening hours. This will allow for some severe storms to be possible in parts of Missouri, and the primary threat will be quarter size hail. Severe weather potential will ramp up across the region Thursday afternoon and evening. Tornadoes, quarter size hail and wind gusts in excess of 60 mph appear possible at this time.
