Significant tornado threat looms as potentially life-threatening storms move into Central US

As the powerful coast-to-coast storm marches east, conditions will become favorable for severe storms across the Missouri Valley. Once again, tornadoes, large hail, and wind gusts in excess of 70 mph will be likely. A few of these tornadoes will have the potential to be strong (EF-2+). Unique to this event, storms are not likely to form until late in the day, potentially even after sunset.
