Hurricane Otis strengthens in final approach to Mexico's southern coast

What was Tropical Storm Otis strengthened into a hurricane late Tuesday morning as it swirled just off the southern coast of Mexico near Acapulco, and further strengthening is likely before landfall Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.
