Iowa caucuses turnout threatened by record cold as arctic blast invades US

The Iowa caucuses have been held since 1972, but in every election cycle, temperatures have reached at least 16 degrees or higher. The record is expected to be broken on Monday when high temperatures around Des Moines and much of Iowa will struggle to climb above zero, with wind chills expected to remain below zero.
