Springlike warmth continues for parts of US with numerous record highs threatened
Arctic air will remain absent from the U.S. for the next two weeks as a ridge of high pressure parks itself over southern Canada and the jet stream floods the nation with mild air from the Pacific Ocean. Temperatures will be 10-25 degrees above average in the Plains and Midwest, translating to highs in the 50s and 60s. Numerous record-high temperatures will likely fall each day across the Upper Midwest. Minneapolis could set a record high four days in a row. By this weekend, the mid-Atlantic and Northeast will flirt with record highs as temperatures climb into the 50s and 60s.
