50 years of memories washed away for San Diego family following floods
Many towns in Southern California are still recovering after the flooding on Jan. 22, 2024. It is estimated that at least 500 homes were damaged, leaving more than 1,000 people displaced. Unfortunately, the Sanchez family from the Shelltown neighborhood is among those impacted. Not only was their home destroyed in the flood, but 50 years' worth of memories were washed away. Their daughter, Luz Sanchez, who lived in that house all her life, spoke with FOX Weather Meteorologists Ian Oliver and Jane Minar.
