Dangerous heat spreads into Las Vegas, Arizona

The main driver for the intense heat will be a very pronounced ridge that will build across the western U.S. over the next few days. Daytime high temperatures will soar into the 90s and 100s for much of California's Central Valley, as well as the deserts of California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and southern Utah.
