Meteorologists working on ways to predict rapid intensification of tropical systems

The National Hurricane Center began to use a new computer forecast model this hurricane season to try and predict a tropical system’s rapid intensification. NOAA Meteorologist Gus Alaka joined FOX Weather on Aug. 15 to discuss how the model can better forecast a storm’s strengthening and the process of rapid intensification.
