Bioluminescence is the glow from millions of tiny algae in the ocean emitting light. It's only visible at night, and you can see here. Surfers in California were taking in the magical sight the best way they know how. These videos of surfer Kai Johnson were taken by UC San Diego photographer Erik Jepsen.
