'Particularly Dangerous Situation' fire weather threat looms in Southern California
A very strong, widespread and long-duration Santa Ana wind event will bring extreme fire weather conditions to many areas of Southern California, but particularly Los Angeles and Ventura counties into Thursday. This threat has prompted the National Weather Service office in Los Angeles to issue a rare Particularly Dangerous Situation Fire Weather Warning for portions of Los Angeles and Ventura counties from Wednesday through Thursday morning, noting damaging wind gusts of 50-80 mph in the forecast.
