Beryl's remnants trigger regional tornado outbreak in New York
New York State Troopers said they were assisting residents with storm damage in Chautauqua and Erie counties.
Tornadoes sweep across western New York
The remnants of Hurricane Beryl produced tornadoes across western New York on Wednesday. Significant damage was reported in parts of Erie County.
The remnants of Hurricane Beryl left one last mark on the nation Thursday night before finally heading back out to sea, triggering a regional tornado outbreak in Upstate New York and significant flash flooding in New England.
In western New York, tornadoes left homes damaged and trees uprooted in Chautauqua and Erie counties.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said the town of Eden was placed under a state of emergency due to widespread damage.
"Significant damage has been incurred at a number of farms, especially barns, which are a total loss, and animals are injured," Poloncarz posted on social media. "Thankfully there are no reports of human injuries."
Despite the damage, the tornado rated an EF-0 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale with estimated peak wind gusts of 85 mph.
At the height of the storms, more than 10,000 power outages were reported in the immediate region, with nearly 50,000 outages reported in the Northeast. A vast majority of the outages have since been resolved.
Poloncarz promised the cleanup would be immediate in the hard-hit areas.
The tornado forecast for Thursday was the most potent for central New York since 2006, and more than 40 Tornado Warnings were sounded for the region.
Throughout its journey across the U.S., Beryl produced a significant amount of tornadoes. Monday witnessed the highest number of Tornado Warnings ever issued on a single day in July, totaling 118. On Tuesday, several tornadoes were spotted in the Ohio Valley.

Remnants of Beryl bring heavy rains to areas devastated by 2023 floods
As the storm pushed into New England, the severe weather headaches turned from tornadoes to flooding, with widespread flash flooding problems reported in New Hampshire, Vermont and northern New York.
There were dozens of reports of washed out roads and bridges across New Hampshire as Doppler radar estimated more than 6 inches of rainfall fell in just a few hours. Several towns in Vermont were also flooded after receiving 5-10 inches of rain. Multiple rescues were needed in Plainfield, Vermont after a building suffered a partial collapse, according to the National Weather Service.

Flash Flood Warnings linger into Thursday morning, but the bulk of the rain is over, and the forecast is on a drying trend for water-logged New England.
