Northeast, Midwest to enjoy some of the coolest temperatures since June
The latest information from the FOX Forecast Center shows many areas will be seeing temperatures 5 to 10 degrees below average for this time of year, and with lower humidity, it will feel refreshing when heading outside.

Overall, the below-average temperatures, drop in humidity and abundance of sun will lead to a stunningly beautiful stretch of weather Friday through the weekend.
Millions of Americans from the Northeast to the Midwest are getting a much-needed extended break from the recent relentless heat as cooler air gets pulled into the eastern half of the country from Canada.
The latest information from the FOX Forecast Center shows many areas will be seeing temperatures 5 to 10 degrees below average for this time of year, and with lower humidity, it will feel refreshing when heading outside.

A slow-moving cold front that pushed through the Northeast and mid-Atlantic broke the heat this week but, in doing so, sparked heavy rain and thunderstorms that brought serious flooding to places like Washington.
Starting Thursday, a second cold front will begin sweeping across the Midwest and Great Lakes. And when it does, it will usher in cooler and drier conditions across the region and through the Northeast.
But overall, the below-average temperatures, drop in humidity and abundant sunshine will lead to a stretch of beautiful weather from Friday through the weekend.
"A cold front is going to be moving through over the next 24 hours, and we’re going to say ‘goodbye’ to the warm and sticky conditions that we still have for the (Interstate) 95 corridor for today," FOX Weather meteorologist Britta Merwin said. "As we head into the weekend, all of us get to enjoy those cooler conditions."

Thursday

Cooler temperatures will be situated farther north on Thursday, with places like Boston seeing a high temperature of only 79 degrees – much cooler than the seven-day stretch of temperatures at 95 degrees or above that the region saw over the past week.
Marquette, Michigan, and other areas along the Midwest and Great Lakes region will also be cooler on Thursday.
Marquette will see a high temperature on Thursday in the upper 60s.
But farther south, warm temperatures will remain.
New York City and Baltimore will see high temperatures in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees.
Friday and the weekend
Temperatures across the Midwest and Northeast this weekend will be much more comfortable.

As we head into Friday and the weekend, the cooler, drier air will remain in place across the Midwest and Northeast into New England.
Boston will see a high temperature on Friday and Saturday in the upper 70s, with temperatures turning a little bit warmer by the time we get into Sunday.
Temperatures will continue to drop around the Great Lakes region, like in Detroit.
The Motor City will have a high temperature of around 81 degrees on Friday, but by Saturday, that will fall into the upper 70s, and then the mid-70s by the time we close out the weekend on Sunday.
Marquette on Friday will be in the upper 70s but will fall to around 70 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.
