Plane carrying one passenger flips in Florida during severe storms
A plane carrying at least one person has flipped over at Orlando Executive Airport while severe weather moved through the area.
ORLANDO, Fla. - One person was killed and another injured after a pair of planes flipped at Orlando Executive Airport during intense storms in Central Florida on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Carolyn Fennell, a spokesperson for Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, said one of the planes was unoccupied, while the other plane was occupied, though it is unclear how many people were aboard.
The planes flipped as a result of severe thunderstorms that produced damaging winds around 5:30 p.m., Fennell said.

Several counties in Central Florida were under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning at the time and the National Weather Service warned of 60 mph wind gusts.

A weather observation system at the airport reported a wind gust of 62 mph along with heavy raining and plenty of lightning.
Videos shared with Orlando's FOX 35 showed a small plane completely flipped over, and multiple emergency responders near the tarmac. Operations were briefly paused due to weather, but have since resumed, the spokesperson said.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
