Phoenix area under slight risk for severe weather Tuesday
Hail, damaging winds primary threats but tornadoes also possible

The Phoenix area is under a slight risk for severe weather Tuesday – something that hasn’t happened in October for six years.
According to the Storm Prediction Center, severe storms are possible across Central Arizona. Hail up to 2 inches in diameter, damaging winds of up to 75 mph and heavy rain are the biggest threats with these storms.
A few tornadoes are also possible near the Mogollon Rim, according to the SPC.

The National Weather Service in Phoenix said the timing for the storms is from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
According to the SPC, the last time the Phoenix area was under a slight risk in October was on Oct. 20, 2015.
