Another day of warm weather expected Friday across Eastern Seaboard
The FOX Forecast Center said cooler temperatures are expected along much of the Eastern Seaboard this weekend.
After the warmth on Thursday that saw more than two dozen cities set a daily record high, another day of warm weather is expected Friday across the Eastern Seaboard.
Central Park in New York City already tied its daily record high of 61 degrees before 6 a.m. EST Friday.
More record-high temperatures could fall Friday afternoon from the New York City tri-state area to Boston as temperatures rise to near 60 degrees.
"East of the Mississippi River, it's very likely going to be warmer, and if you're west of the Rockies, it'll most likely be cooler because it's the wet-season activity," FOX Weather meteorologist Steve Bender said. "Then that trade continues into the latter half of the month as well. So, February is trending to be warm."
The FOX Forecast Center said cooler temperatures are expected along much of the Eastern Seaboard this weekend. However, with the overall mid- to upper-level flow running from west to east across the Lower 48, arctic air will remain absent and temperatures will return to well-above-average levels by early next week.
