WATCH: Cleveland Guardians player tosses football with Yankees fan during rain delay at ALDS Game 5
New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians will play the decisive Game 5 of their American League Division Series after the original matchup was postponed because of rain Monday.
NEW YORK – What does a baseball player do when rain prevents them from swinging the bat? Play football, of course.
The Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees were all set to play the decisive Game 5 of their American League Division Series at Yankee Stadium on Monday night, but damp weather ended up postponing the game.
While the teams were waiting out the rain, Guardians outfielder Myles Straw traded in the baseball for a football and tossed the pigskin around with a Yankees fan in the stand for a bit.
In the video attached to the top of this story, Straw is seen tossing the football before catching it and heading back to the dugout.
Game 5 was rescheduled for Tuesday. First pitch is at 4:07 p.m. EDT, and the weather looks to be sunny with temps in the upper 50s
This is the second time a game in the Guardians/Yankees series has been affected by weather. Game 2 last week in New York was postponed a day because of rain.
