ABILENE, Texas -- Several wildfires that ignited Thursday in western parts of Texas have consumed about 50,000 acres so far as firefighters work to contain the blazes.
The worst of the wind-driven fires were in Eastland County, between Fort Worth and Abilene, as part of what has been dubbed the Eastland Complex Fire. The town of Carbon, about 60 miles southeast of Abilene, was among the towns hardest hit by the blazes.
According to FOX West Texas, a separate fire in the town of Ranger spread quickly and destroyed a 100-year-old church.
Here are some of the images and videos that show the effects of the fires so far.
