Watch as a fireman saves golden retriever from frozen pond south of Denver
The owner said its dog, Watson, chased after geese when it fell through the ice.
CENTENNIAL, Colo. – A golden retriever is safe after a fireman rescued it from an ice-covered pond Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to the pond along the Big Dry Creek Trail in Centennial, located just south of Denver.
The owner said its dog, Watson, chased after geese when it fell through the ice.
"Do not attempt to rescue a pet in distress," the South Metro Fire Department wrote. "Watson’s owner did the right thing by staying onshore and calling 911."
Officials say they rescued a woman and her dog from the same pond several days ago.
