With Colorado’s current warm weather, firefighters say to be cautious around ice-covered bodies of water.
"With our fluctuating temperatures, any ice that forms on lakes and ponds should be considered dangerous," Kim Spuhler with the South Metro Fire Rescue said.
Officials from South Metro PD say they’ve received about 15 ice rescue calls since the beginning of the year.
