Winter storm warnings are in effect for areas near Salt Lake City and parts of southern Wyoming and Colorado through late Sunday night.
The NWS in Salt Lake City says the heaviest snow would fall early Sunday across the Salt Lake, Tooele and Rush valleys. Those areas are expected to pick up a few more inches before the time the storm winds down.
Travel in those areas is expected to be difficult, so anyone who needs to get on the road is asked to allow for extra time and keep supplies inside the vehicle in case of an emergency.
