The weekend flash flood in middle Tennessee has upended lives and livelihoods.
About 17 inches of rain fell Saturday near Waverly, Tennessee. The heavy rain led to quick rises in a nearby creek. The floodwaters inundated homes and businesses, sweeping some of them off their foundations.
Twenty-two people were killed, and four are still missing as of Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency officials said hundreds of buildings in the area will likely be uninhabitable.
