Two injured at North Carolina ski resort after pipe bursts
Two people were taken to the hospital after a water pipe burst, soaking riders at a North Carolina ski resort.
On Friday, a skier hit a water hydrant during snowmaking operations at Beech Mountain Resort.
The hydrant, located directly under a chairlift, sprayed several riders.
"Our operations and safety team worked diligently to unload the lift and drain the system safely," Beech Mountain management said in a statement.
The riders were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
